So my mom told me to blog about this. (Hi mom!)

I tried out for all-state choir last Friday evening. Despite having a less-than-superb accompanist (He did do it on very short notice, and it was a hard piece) my solo still went fairly well. Then I went to sight reading, where I basically rock. In our state, the way sight reading works is that there are 3 8-measure single lines. Basically, a short melody. Then there is a 16 measure block and contrapuntal- a 4 part thingy where there is a recording singing the other several parts. So we sing the single lines, then the block part twice. Unfortunately, I screwed up on the block and contrapuntal the second time through. But you know what? It's okay! I still got top 10 chairs in the state! Heck yes. I'm pretty proud of myself. Only one other person from my school got a higher chair than me in any part. So I feel pretty good about myself.

Now to go to school Monday to find out my real results...
